The Foundation
of WrapHub
I’m Robert Dexter, the owner of WrapHub.
I got into vinyl at 16, working out of my family’s garage,
It started with a chrome delete on my own car.
I’ve always been into cars.. Anything with a motor, really.
What pulled me into wrapping was the transformation. You could completely change a vehicle without permanently altering it.
Removable.
Reversible.
Fully transformative.
That idea stuck with me.What kept me in it was the challenge. No two installs are the same. Every vehicle has different curves, different body lines, different tension points. There are always problems to solve on the spot.
You have to understand how the material reacts.
When to stretch it.
When to back off.
When to reset and do it right.
It never gets boring. That’s what I love about it.
Building the Skillset
I started working professionally while still in high school. In 2021, I stepped into a commercial installer role. One of my first major projects was a full Mercedes Sprinter wrap for Great Lakes Wine and Spirits.
That project set the tone. From there, I spent years handling large fleet and commercial work across Michigan. Viviano Flower Shops, Flame Heating and Cooling, High Noon, Pointe Alarm, GLW&S and their subsidiaries, Motor City Seafood.
Fleet vehicles. Storefront windows. Walls. Floors. Doors. Even building exteriors.
Commercial work builds discipline fast.You learn to move with purpose.
You learn to stay clean and consistent.
You learn that shortcuts always show. At that level, mistakes are not acceptable.
You either do it right, or you redo it. After a few years, I switched shops because I wanted more range. I didn’t want to be known as just a fleet installer. The second shop introduced more custom work.
More color changes.
More precision-focused installs.
Fleet work builds discipline. Custom work builds finesse.
Learning both shaped how I operate today.
The Turning Point
While working full time in shops, I was building on the side. Chrome deletes. Smoked lights. Full color changes.
Higher-end vehicles. More trust. About a year into my career, I started asking myself why I wasn’t doing this for myself.
I had the experience. I had the standards. In 2024, after attending a Avery PPF training course, things shifted.
That summer, the work got bigger. More serious. Then I did a chrome delete on a 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer in my garage, It barely fit. That’s when it became obvious. It was time.In November 2024, I made the move to build WrapHub the right way.
Starting WrapHub
WrapHub was built on one principle: Quality over quantity.
We do not rush jobs.
We disassemble properly.
We wash and decontaminate fully.
We prep paint the right way.
We install properly.
We post-heat correctly.
We reassemble with care.
Every vehicle gets treated like it’s ours.
Nothing leaves the shop unless I’m completely satisfied with it.
Not rushed. Not halfway done.
